Foot Fungus Treatment
Another factor to consider is how to treat the immune system reacts. Those who develop delayed hypersensitivity to dermatophyte complete healing for themselves. Instead, they have an immediate response from IgE may require more detailed and extensive treatment.
The soap or shampoo based selenium sulfate are often used to wash the feet, but should not be used if there are significant inflammatory injuries, such as in immunocompromised individuals (diabetes).
Athlete's foot can occur in three clinical forms:
- Chronic form intertriginous presented as a dry interdigital infection, whose symptoms include itching (in some cases), white maceration, fissures and cracks with a characteristic odor and peeling.
- Acute form, usually plant: itching (sometimes), fissures and hyperkeratosis where the whole foot fits the shoe. We often see sores and scabs in places of greatest friction.
- Form vesicular wet, blisters should never be intentionally exploited.
Athlete's foot almost always responds well to care, although it may recur.
To prevent future infections, we recommend following the steps listed in the section on Prevention.
If the athlete's foot does not improve in 2 to 4 weeks or recurs frequently, consult a doctor. This can prescribe stronger antifungal medications such as ketoconazole or terbinafine. Antibiotics may be necessary to treat bacterial infections that occur from scratching.
